Where the Water Turns Deep
Two Blues and One Metal
Blue Kyanite · Pale Half
Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with clear expression — the pale beads keep the strand from running dark all the way round.
Deep Blue Kyanite · Dark Half
The second blue is heat-treated to sit deeper. It is traditionally associated with steadiness — the weight the pale beads rest against.
Silver Spacer · The Pause
Sterling silver spacers sit between a few of the pairs, never between every bead. They catch light exactly where the two blues meet.
One Deep, One Pale
Who Chooses the Deep Blue
More often, it goes to someone who:
- wears navy more than black, and knows the difference.
- wants a bracelet that does not announce itself.
- has tried the bright stones and come back to blue.
- works with their hands and wants something that stays put.
- keeps one piece on for months at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with clear expression. Some people keep it near when they have something difficult to say. This bracelet sets two tones of the single stone side by side, deep and pale, on one strand.
Blue kyanite is a natural aluminium silicate that grows in long blade-like crystals, which is why cut beads often carry fine white lines through the blue. The color runs from a pale ice blue to a deep navy, and the two ends of that range are sorted into separate strands.
The pale beads are natural blue kyanite. The deep beads have been heat-treated to reach a darker blue than the raw stone usually gives. Set one for one, the two tones read as depth rather than as two separate materials.
Blue kyanite at 6 mm and heat-treated deep blue kyanite at 6 mm, with spacer beads in sterling silver, all strung on an elastic cord.
The spacers are sterling silver. Like any silver, they can dull slowly with everyday contact and with humidity. Keeping the bracelet dry and wiping the silver with a soft dry cloth will help it hold its shine longer.
Better not. The stones and the silver both do best dry, so take the bracelet off before showering, swimming or washing dishes, and put it on last — after lotion and perfume have dried.
Blue kyanite varies from bead to bead, and the two tones sit at different depths on every strand. The exact mix of pale and deep will differ slightly from the photos. Each bracelet is checked against the same color standard before it is packed.
